It’s All About The Block Party: Block Coloring That Is

Spring is in full swing with this beautiful weather we’ve been having and the best way to bring it out is by “blocking” together your favorite hot and peppy colors; the basic rule of thumb for color blocking is the brighter the better!
Color blocking is simple; just piece together 2 or more blocks of color in one ensemble. There are 2 ways to rock this trend. The first is to wear a dress that already is color blocked and add in your own coordinating accessories to complete the ensemble. The second is to piece together your own color blocked tops and bottoms to create a completely unique look.
Color Blocking doesn’t have to be left just for your clothes though. You can use the effect on shoes, handbags and other fashion accessories for an edgier look.
Not a fan of the bright, out-there colors? Color blocking can be done using basic color combinations for a more subtle effect. Don’t be afraid to try out color combinations you may not immediately think to pair together. Sometimes those looks are the ones that turn out the best!
Here at the Bemidji Design Center we have brought in so many new “blocked” outfits. For example try this cute spring blocked dress (pictured below left) and pair it with a bright orange colored belt for the ultimate blocked look! Or try a piece that is already fully blocked for you (pictured below right).
